Monatliche Mitteilungen NSDAP Ortsgruppe Nürnberg Gostenhof is a very rare monthly information magazine from the NSDAP Ortsgruppe located on the west side of downtown Nürnberg, the City of Nazi Party Days. This is the heavily illustrated February issue (#2) of 1935.

The 6-3/8 x 9-5/8 inch 34-page publication starts with an article about the 50th birthday of anti-Semitic Gauleiter Julius Streicher opposite a photo portrait of 50 year old Frankenführer. The extremely anti-Jewish article praises Streicher as a brave and loyal fellow fighter of the Führer, continuously battling the Jews (profiteers, thieves, murderers) and eternally warning fellow German citizens about the cowardly Jew in his Der Stürmer newspaper, in an effort to break their power in Germany.

This is followed by a full-page ad for Streicher’s two newspapers, Der Stürmer ( referred to as “The Battle Paper against the Jewish World Plague”) and the Fränkische Tageszeitung, the daily Nazi Party newspaper of Nürnberg and Gau Franken.

Any prospective purchaser might be interested to know that we purchased this very rare magazine in a grouping of a dozen or so rare Third Reich books that were ‘liberated’ shortly after the end of World War II by an American Army Captain working in an office that had been occupied during the Third Reich by staff of Ortsgruppe Nürnberg-St. Johannis.

There are articles in this Nazi publication about the recent Christmas celebrations in Ortsgruppe Nürnberg Gostenhof, Winterhifswerk charity activities of Ortsgruppe Nürnberg Gostenhof, an explanation of the NS-Volkswohlfart (NSV or National Socialist People's Welfare organization), vocational schooling for members of the Hitler Youth (“The HJ is the Future of Germany!”), DAF announcements about sanitary facilities in German businesses, new office hours of the DAF Administration Office Nürnberg-West, a report from a German working in the Soviet Union, etc.

There is a very interesting 4-page list of Deutsche Geschäfte, proper Aryan businesses in Nürnberg (shown above left). There is fascinating advertising by approved local businesses for ID photos for Nazi documents and passports, Nazi typewriters, Christian Lauer medals and badges, stores selling Volksempfänger (People’s Radios), breweries, dry cleaners, furniture and clothing stores, restaurants, bars and cafés. We think that with a little research we could probably prove that butcher Fritz Rupprecht is a close relative of famous Stürmer caricaturist Fips whose real name was Philipp Rupprecht. Fips was the illustrator of Streicher’s extreme anti-Jewish books Der Giftpilz and Trau keinem Fuchs.

This original 89 year old monthly Nazi Ortsgruppe magazine is in very nice condition, but unfortunately advertising pages 11 / 12 were torn out by a previous owner. No writing, no odor.
